Wednesday night, the Jackrabbits ventured to Sanger for their second district game. The game had been postponed from Tuesday night due to the field not being ready after the nine inches of snow that Sanger received last week. The Sanger staff had the field looking good by gametime Wednesday though. The fans were treated to watching a pitching duel most of the night. Cody McMurray was on the mound for the Rabbits. He gave up one hit over his six innings but Sanger was able to score three runs. The Sanger pitcher also gave up only one hit and most of the crowd thought it should have been scored an error. Sanger did not give up any walks and Bowie was unable to score. Bo Slaton came in to relieve McMurray in the sixth inning with two outs and a runner on first. Slaton threw one pitch, the runner tried to steal second and was thrown out by Bear Treadway. This brought Bowie to bat in the top of the seventh, needing at least three runs to stay in the game. The Rabbits were unable to get a rally going and ended up losing a close one. This is a game Bowie needed to win with Argyle coming to Bowie Friday night. With this loss, Bowie goes to a 1 - 1 record in district. The Rabbit's bats need to come alive. You hate to give your pitcher a loss on a one hitter. We'll see what happens next.
